Court grants bail to Dhumal in HPCA land allotment case

A Kangra district court on Monday granted bail to former chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal for alleged wrongdoings in the allotment of land to Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) during previous BJP regime.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Davinder Kumar granted bail to Dhumal and 10 others upon furnishing bail bond of Rs 25,000.

However, Dhumla’s sons, Hamipur MP and HPCA President Anurag Thakur and Arun Dhumal who were among the 16 people summoned by the court on September 6 could not appear before the court today.

Himachal Vigilance Department had indicted 18 persons for wrongdoing in allotment of land to the HPCA for building a plush residential complex for players near its stadium in Dharamsala on April 25.
