Himachal government on Saturday launched online portal for approval of building plans, licensing and registration and renewal of licenses of factories in the state, a move aimed at felicitating industrialists.
A government spokesperson said that Online Factory Registration Information System (OFRIS) Software has been developed to facilitate the factory owners for online approval of building plans, licensing and registration and renewal of licenses. “To implement the OFRIS, the Department of Labour has decided to computerize the entire process of online approval. The software could be accessed on admis.hp.nic.in/ofris and detailed guidelines regarding application process could be accessed at http://admis.hp.nic.in/ofris/guidelines.aspx,” the spokesperson said.
He said that those establishments which were already registered manually have to apply online for renewal by September 15, 2014 to enable the department to process the application by October 31, 2014.
“The newly developed software offers an automated and transparent interface for the approval of building plan and factory registration, thereby streamlining the functioning of the whole process. Online payment of registration and renewal fee under Factories Act, 1948 through Net Banking would do away the visit of applicant to Bank, Treasury and officers of the department for verification of challans,” he added.
He added that it would also help in reducing the time span in the registration process of factories and building plan approvals and also to ascertain the status of application submitted and action being taken at every stage of the process. “It would provide fair, transparent and in time processing of various approvals to the satisfaction of all,” added the spokesperson.
