Famous Punjabi Sufi singer Barkat Sidhu dies at the age of 68

Famous Punjabi Sufi singer Barkat Sidhu died at a Ludhiana hospital on Saturday night after prolonged battle with cancer at age of 68.

A fine exponent of Patiala Gharana of singing, Barkat Sidhu sang with great passion and precision throughout his life and he has perfected the Sufi style.

Punjab Revenue and Public Relations Minister Bikram Singh Majithia condoled the demise of great Sidhu and expressed his heartfelt sympathies with the members of bereaved family. Majithia prayed to Almighty to grant peace to departed soul and strength to the family to bear this irreparable loss.
