Modi stands for 'movement of developing India': Sukhbir

Nawanshahar/March 31
Describing Modi as abbreviation of ‘Movement of Developing India’, Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal on Monday said that future generation would remember NDA’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi as a catalyst who placed developing country like India into the list of most developed nations of the world.
He dared Congress party to compete with NDA on development agenda and said that Modi has become synonym of development for the youth of India. “NDA has experienced and visionary prime ministerial candidate who has proved his efficiency by bringing economical revolution in Gujarat. I want to coin an abbreviation ‘Movement of Developing India’ to describe Modi’s personality in few words”, he added.
Earlier addressing the massive rally here, Badal gave a clarion call to the voters to vote for performance. He appealed the voters to draw a comparison between NDA and Congress led UPA besides comparing the candidates of Shiromani Akali Dal and Congress party before voting. “On one hand you have option to choose a committed and experienced economics scholar Prof. Prem singh Chandumajra and on the other there is a candidate forced on you as previous congress candidate run away from the constituency”, he added.
Daring Congress party to compete on development agenda of NDA, Badal said that India shines only during NDA rule, whereas, Congress led UPA-1 not only survived on the momentum built by the NDA government but also mislead the nation to retain power. He said that UPA-2 failed to keep this legacy and now it was going out leaving behind a negative growth rate.
Lashing at anti people and anti Punjab policies of Congress party, Badal said that the NDA government has kept the level of inflation under control while developing nation at the growth rate of more than 8 percent per annum. He said that during 10 years of rule Gandhi family and its coterie gulped the growth achieved from natural resources, agro-industrial production and services by the hardworking people of the nation. He said that Congress leaders from the state also followed the age old anti Punjab policies of the party and did their best to stop any development project brought to the state by SAD-BJP alliance under the able guidance of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.
Expressing his heartfelt gratitude on the support guaranteed by the people of the area, Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra said that he has completed two rounds of campaign in all the assembly segments of the Anandpur Sahib constituency. He said that after witnessing the overwhelming response he was receiving from the different sections of the society, Ravneet Singh Bittu has left the constituency. “Ambika Soni, who was forced to contest her maiden election, was facing poll and climate heat. I gave my best services to the people of Punjab as Cooperation Minister and two times MP besides having a track record of working for the welfare of common masses. So, people of the area must ask Ambika Soni for her contribution to the area or Punjab if she ever visit your locality”, Prof. Chandumajra added.
