MBBS course duration shouldn't be extended: Anil Joshi

Chandigarh/February 24
Punjab Medical Education and Research minister Anil Joshi on Monday urged centre government to not to extend the MBBS course duration from 5 years to 7 years.
In a letter to the Union government, Joshi has asked the authorities to consider all the relating issues pertaining to students before taking such decision. He apprehended that the extension of course duration could diminish the enthusiasm of the students in Medical profession.
Joshi expressed fear that the students could lose charm for the noble medical profession and there is every likelyhood that the students can opt for foreign universities for getting medical degree avoiding the indigenous medical institutes.
