Only 458 docs apply for 399 Senior Resident doctors' posts in Punjab

In order to provide better healthcare facilities to the citizens of state and Punjab government had even relaxed norms but the government’s recruitment drive has met with lukewarm response as only 458 candidates have applied so far the advertised 399 posts of Senior Resident doctors.
Punjab’s Department of Medical Education & Research has invited online applications for 399 posts of Senior Residents in all the departments of Government Medical College Patiala and Amritsar, with an to strengthen and improve the functioning of both the Medical Colleges.
“Till now 458 applications has been received out of which 172 applications are from PCMS cadre with rural service experience, 15 are from PCMS cadre with less experience, 23 are from PCMS cadre without rural service experience, 89 are from other PCMS/NRHM candidates, 18 are from other service candidates and 141 are applications are from other cadre,” a Punjab government spokesperson, adding that interested candidates can apply online by logging on and and they can send scanned copy of their relevant documents on email id till January 17, 2014 till 5.00 pm.
