Indian Election Commission likely to announce schedule for Lok Sabha elections in February

New Delhi/January 12
The Election Commission of India is likely to announce election schedule for Lok Sabha elections 2014 in February, sources said on Sunday.
As per reports, the Election Commission can organise a press conference to declare election schedule for Lok Sabha election on February 18 or February 26 and elections are likely to be held in five phases from mid-April to May.
This means that UPA led government has only left with five to six weeks to roll out schemes or take new policy decisions to woo voters before the Model Code of Conduct comes into force and sources say that the Centre government may roll out free mobile phone scheme to BPL families.
