Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee today organised the meeting of State Election Committee to shortlist candidates for upcoming Lok Sabha elections under the chairmanship of HPCC President Th. Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu at Rajiv Bhawan Shimla here.
HPCC Spokesperson Sanjay Singh Chauhan said that Th. Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Hon’ble Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, Vidya Stokes, Kaul Singh Thakur, Chander Kumar, Gangu Ram Musafir, Kuldeep Kumar, G S Bali, Asha Kumari, Rangila Ram Rao, Dhani Ram Shandil, Punchog Rai and heads of frontal organisations held discussions on the names of 21 candidates who had applied for four Lok Sabha seats of the state.
Chauhan said that the 21 names of aspirants for upcoming Lok Sabha elections are Chander Kumar, Raghubir Singh Bali for Kangra LS seat, Pratibha Singh, Lalit Chaudhary for Mandi LS seat, Ram Chander Pathania, Ram Lal Thakur, Rakesh Chaudhary, Sita Ram Bhardwaj, Arun Thakur, Des Raj Gautam, R R Rohi, Sunil Sharma, Rajinder Singh Rana for Hamirpur LS seat and Sunder Singh Banolta, Sohan Lal, Om Parkash Kataria, Amit Nanda, Vinod Sultanpuri, Namita Chaudhary, Brij Lal, Mohan Lal Brakta for Shimla (SC) LS seat.
“The State Election Committee has unanimously forwarded these names to party high command to decide on the names of candidates for upcoming Lok Sabha elections and the candidates’ name is likely to be announced soon,” Chauhan added.
