Ludhiana acid attack victim dies in Mumbai hospital

A 22-year-old bride who had suffered burn injuries after a youth had thrown acid on her inside a beauty parlor in Ludhiana, today died at a Mumbai hospital.
As per reports, Harpreet Kaur who was earlier undergoing treatment at DCM Ludhiana hospital, was shifted to National Burns Centre in Mumbai for specialised treatment on December 12 and she succumbed to the burn injuries today. Her body will be airlifted to her native village in Barnala for cremation.
On December 7, a youth had thrown acid on her while she had gone for bridal makeup in a beauty parlor in Ludhiana’s Sarabha Nagar area and she had suffered 45 percent burn injuries in the attack.
Police have later arrested the divorced wife of groom’s elder brother and on interrogation, she had confessed to have planned the attack on victim in collusion with her paramour and five others who have been arrested by the police.
