The Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Shukla has written to Maharashtra government to take back the land from trust, jointly own by him
New Delhi/December 11
In yet another scandal involving UPA minister, BJP alleged that Maharashtra government had allegedly allotted prime land in Mumbai to BAG Film Educational society which is co-found by the Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Rajiv Shukla and his wife.
BJP leader Kirit Somaiya alleged that the trust was allotted land, 1 km away from Amitabh Bachchan’s residence in Juhu and worth around Rs 100 crore, in 2007 to construct a school and a club.
Somaiya alleged that the Maharashtra government had allotted the land in violation of rules that states that government can’t allot land to a trust that isn’t registered in the state. However, the state government violated the rule as BAG Film Educational society is registered in Delhi and further the trust didn’t fulfill the condition of constructing a school within two years.
Somaiya further alleged that now the files, pertaining to the land allotment are missing as the state revenue department officials says that the files were untraceable.
Amid the allegations by BJP, Shukla had reportedly written a letter to Maharashtra government to take back the allotted land as they couldn’t start any construction on the land due to encroachment.
