Punjab to provide unemployed youth jobs in textile sector

Punjab government on Thursday announced to provide employment to the unemployed youths of the state in Textile sector for which state government will provide training to interested youths from October 21 onwards at Apral Training and Design Centre in Khuni Majra.
A spokesman of Employment Generation and Training Department said that the unemployed youths will be trained in technical courses related to Smart Industrial Sewing Machine Operator (Basic and Advance), Smart Finishers and Packers, Smart Quality Checker and Smart Surface Ornamentation.
“Interested candidates who have passed 5th class and are in the age group of 18-35 years can apply for training in these courses and around 30-40 candidates will be admitted in each course,” the spokesperson said, adding that the candidates will have to pay Rs 3,300 as course while SC?ST candidates will be given a rebate of 25 percent in the fee.
The spokesperson added that this fee would be reimbursed to qualified candidates after the completion of course and 40 percent candidates will be employed by Apral Training and Design Centre (ATDC) at a minimum wage of not less Rs 3000 per month.
