Punjab invites online applications from wards of Ex-servicemen for PM scholarship scheme

Punjab government on Thursday invited applications from the wards of ex-servicemen under Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme 2013-14.
Punjab’s Defence Services Welfare Department Chief Parliamentary Secretary S Virsa Singh Valtoha said that children of ex-servicemen who have passed 10+2 or Diploma or Graduation with 60 percent marks and are pursuing studies in professional courses are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
“Under PM Scholarship scheme, girl students are given a scholarship of Rs 2250 per month while male students are given Rs 2000 per month to pursue to their studies,” Valtoha said, adding that eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship in a prescribed performa given on website www.desw.gov.in by November 30, 2013.
