Punjab gives nod to fill 665 posts of teaching staff in govt medical colleges

Punjab government on Thursday gave its nod to fill 665 posts of teaching staff in government run medical colleges of the state.
Punjab’s Health minister Anil Joshi said that the health department has given its approval to create 665 posts of junior/senior resident doctors, professor and assistant professors in Government Medical College Amritsar and Patiala to promote medical education and research and the recruitment process to fill these posts soon.
“Punjab government is committed to provide employment to maximum number of unemployed youth of the state and these recruitment will done as per the guidelines of Medical Council of India,” Joshi said, adding that government will soon start diploma courses in health sector to improve its functioning in sync with modern times.
Joshi also urged heath department officials and medical education experts to bring in professionalism in health care sector and said that medical institutes should start innovative courses so that unemployed youth should maximum number of employment opportunities.
