Himachal govt mulling to reduce minimum bus fares

Himachal’s Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh on Wednesday said that state government is mulling to reduce the minimum bus fares from Rs 5 to Rs 3 to provide relief to common man.
While asserting that the state government was forced to increase bus fares due to constant hike in prices of diesel in recent times, Singh said that the hike in bus fares is still insufficient to meet the revenue losses.
“We are mulling to reduce the minimum bus fares from Rs 5 to Rs 3,” Singh said while ruling the possibility of reduction of bus fares on long journeys.
Singh also rubbished the criticism by opposition BJP and said that during the Dhumal government the bus fares were increased even there was very marginal hike in diesel prices and said that the decision to hike bus fares won’t affect winning propects of the party in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
