Amritsar’s Town Planner suspended for demanding bribe

Punjab’s Local Bodies Minister Anil Joshi on Thursday suspended Amritsar Municipal Town Planner Des Raj for demanding bribe to give NOC (No Objection Certificate) for the registry of house.
Joshi said that Des Raj has been suspended on charges of corruption after they received a complaint that he was demanding bribe to issue NOC for registry of house.
“A vigilance inquiry has been ordered to probe the case and Chief Vigilance Officer AK Kansal has been deputed to investigate the matter,”Joshi said, adding another complaint against EO Devinder Singh Toor has been received and Kansal will also probe this issue and he has been asked to submit his report within 15 days.
Joshi further said that complaints regarding sub standard quality of construction of Sewerage Treatment Plant at Mansa has also been received and Chief Engineers VK Bhatt and Amardeep Singh Dhaliwal has been asked to conduct investigations and submit their report within 15 days.
Joshi added that corruption and indiscipline will not be tolerated at any cost and the guilty officers and employees will be not spared at any cost.
