In a grim reminder of Delhi gangrape, a woman journalist, who was working as photographer with a Mumbai based magazine, was allegedly gangraped by five men in Worli area of Mumbai in India’s Maharashtra State yesterday evening. The woman journalist’s friend was also badly beaten and tied by the accused.
As per reports, the woman along with her colleague had gone Mahalakshami area in Worli to click pictures of some old buildings that was the part of her assignment. The due were lured by five men on the pretext of showing them some old buildings and took them to a deserted mill in the area where the photojournalist was gangraped by the accused.
“The woman journalist, who is in her early 20s, was gangraped by five accused at around 8 pm last evening while her colleague has been badly beaten by the accused. The due have been admitted in Jaslok Hospital where there they are undergoing treatment and their condition is said to be stable,” said the police.
Police have detained around 60 persons for questioning and have also released sketches of five accused, meanwhile, around 18 police teams have been formed to nab the accused.
