Education deptt probing irregularities in recruitments of 849 PTI teachers: Maluka

Punjab’s Education minister Sikander Singh Maluka on Saturday said that education department is probing the irregularities in the recruitment of 791 PTI teachers and clarified that the recruitment was conducted during the tenure of Neelam Bhagat, Ex -Director SCERT, not of Kamal Kumar Garg, the present D P I (Sr. Sec) in education department.
While clarifying government’s stand on the issue, Maluka said that they have received complaint from some candidates that the selection of some candidate was wrong as per the revised result. “Immediately after receiving such complaints, two senior officers were appointed to inquire and investigate the entire matter regarding the selection of these PTI teachers and investigation is in progress,” Maluka said.
Maluka added that the result of 849 posts of PTI teachers was revised by Neelam Bhagat while complying to the order of Punjab and Haryana High Court and the department had also issued directions to the all district Education officer to not confirm the services of these teachers without approval of the higher authority.
