Woman set on fire for resisting rape attempt in Rajasthan

In a shocking incident, a 30-year-old married woman was set on fire after she resisted rape attempt in Hanumangarh district in Rajasthan early this morning today.
The victim was sleeping at her house in Nohar village in Hanumangarh district along with her daughter when the accused Jitendra Kumar entered into her house and tried to rape her.
“When the married woman resisted his rape attempt, Jitendra allegedly poured kerosene oil on her and set her on fire. Hearing her cries, her husband, who was working in fields, rushed to her rescue and took her to a nearby hospital where she succumbed to her injuries,” said the police.
Police have recorded the dying statement of the victim and have arrested the accused Jitendra, against whom a case has been registered at the local police station.
