Urban minister tells Dhumal to verify facts before giving statements

Urban Development and Town and Country Planning Minister Sudhir Sharma while ridiculing the statement of former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal regarding permission for construction of colonies granted to nine non Himachalis, has advised him to verify the facts before giving unfounded statement in the media.
Sharma said that permission for construction of colonies/ apartments was not granted to non Himachalis by the present Government, but the fact was that it was during the previous BJP regime, hundreds of permissions had been given to non Himachalis in violation of all the rules.
He said that while giving permission under Section 118 of Himachal Pradesh Land Reforms and Tenancy Act norms were not followed. They were being investigated by the State Vigilance Department.
He said that Town and Country Planning Act, 2013 had been prepared by amalgamating the Apartment Act and it would be placed before Vidhan Sabha during the Monsoon Session.
He said that the Government was determined to protect the rights and interests of the State and its people.
He said that High Court of Himachal Pradesh had set aside the orders of the previous BJP Government in its judgment on August 31, 2012 thereby freezing the implementation of Apartment Act and the Court had held that as long as the Act was enforce, applications have to be processed as per rules.
