Tanda medical college ranks first among govt run medical colleges in North India

Dr Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College Tanda in Himachal’s Kangra district ranked first amongst State Government run Medical Colleges in North India, as per the survey conducted news weekly.
Himachal’s Health and Family minister Kaul Singh Thakur said that Dr RP Medical College, Kangra was the only college situated in rural area amongst the state run ranked colleges.
”Tanda Medical College is the second youngest college in the top 30 positions as the first batch of 50 MBBS students was admitted in the year 1999 that was increased to 100 students in 2011,” Thakur said, adding that five post-graduate seats were commenced in three specialties in 2010 which were increased to 48 seats in 15 specialties in 2012. Meanwhile, the Super Specialty Block which is being constructed at a cost of Rs 150 crore was near to completion.
He added that the state government’s endeavor is to provide quality medical education to the medical students and various steps were being taken in this direction.
