Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) will generate additional 460 MW power through its Rampur HE project in Himachal and Khirvire in Maharashtra during current financial year 2013-14.
SJVN’s CMD RP Singh said that with 412 MW Rampur HE Project in Himachal Pradesh and 47.6 MW Khirvire Wind Power Project in Maharashtra nearing completion, SJVN will generate additional 460 MW to its generation capacity during the financial year 2013-14.
SJVN owns and operates India’s largest 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station in Himachal Pradesh which has been supplying valuable power to the northern grid states since 2003. “The capacity addition will thus improve supply of power to the northern grid,” Singh said.
“During the year 2012-13, SJVN earned Profit after Tax of Rs 1052.30 crore which is marginally lower than last year’s net profit of Rs 1068.68 crore. However, to maintain Investors’ confidence the SJVN Board of Directors in its meeting that was held yesterday at New Delhi, has recommended higher dividend to its shareholders for the financial year 2012-13,” Singh said.
He added that the net dividend pay out (excluding taxes) works out to Rs 397.12 crore against Rs 388.84 crore paid for the financial year 2011-12 and the dividend amounts to Rs 0.96 per share against Rs 0.94 paid last year.
“During the financial year 2012-13, 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station generated 6777 million units of electricity against the design energy of 6612 MU. Though during last year, the discharge of water in all the Himalayan rivers was substantially lower as compared to previous year but SJVN managed to maintain its revenue flow by managing the machines and utilisation of water in an efficient manner,” he added.
The Plant Availability Factor of the Company’s flagship 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station was recorded at 105.15 percent as against 104.26 percent last year which is the highest so far.
