Punjab University student killed after fire broke in hostel room

A student of Punjab University died in Thursday after a fire broke out in his hostel room today.
As per reports, the fire broke in room number 60 of boys hostel in which a student, whose identity couldn’t be ascertained as yet, was charred to death.
“The room was locked from inside that delayed the rescue efforts and by the students and police officials broke open the door, the students has suffered serious burn injuries. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead,” said the police.
Police officials said that the student was in the age group of 25-27 and they are further investigating the matter to ascertain the real cause behind the fire.
Further investigations in the matter are on.
