One dead in police firing over protest against opening of ashram

One person died while many others suffered injuries after protestors clashed with over protests against opening of an ashram of a controversial godman in Rohtak district of India’s Haryana state.
Some members of Arya Samaj were against the opening of an Ashram by a controversial godman Rampal and they were on their way to Karontha Village where the Ashram is located.
“The protestors were stopped by police on Rohtak-Jhajjar national highway after which they clashed with the police and set two buses on fire. Police had to resort to lathicharge and fired teargas to control the mob,” said the police.
As per reports, some protestors have been injured in the attack and one fired had died in the police firing who are still trying to control the unruly.
Police officials have called for more reinforcements to control the protestors from marching towards the ashram as there are reports that around 10,000 people are gathered inside the ashram to counter any protests.
