Transport Minister GS Bali on Friday said that Himachal Bus Stand Management Authority would construct more commercial multiplexes in near future on BoT basis. He said that this would help in raising the income of loss incurring Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) beside facilitating the people and tourists travelling in Himachal Road Transport Corporation buses.
This was disclosed by the Transport Minister while launching SRS multiplex and cinema in Shimla New ISBT at Tuti Kandi on Friday.
Bali informed that government was also mulling to construct similar mulitplex complex with cinema facility near Dhalli in Shimla.
Transport Minister disclosed that a big parking facility would also be constructed near ISBT at Tuti Kandi. “After completion of this parking people and tourist don’t have to drive their vehicles further into the town to reach Mall Road. This parking place would be connected with Mall Road area with ropeway facility, “he added.
He said that government had planned similar complex and cinema at Dharamshala but this proposal could not be materialise due to political reasons.
Tinku Singh, Group President, SRS Group, said that it was SRS Group’s 13th Multiplex in north India. Shimla’s multiplex has total 2 screens and capacity of 374 seats all set to enthrall the local residents

As part of this expansion plan, SRS Cinemas will soon enchant the residents of many new cities in North India, he added.
