Indian Railway minister’s nephew arrested for accepting bribe for railway officer's promotion

In another embarrassment for Congress led Indian government after Indian Railways minister Pawan Kumar Bansal’s nephew was arrested by CBI today for accepting a bribe of Rs 90 lakhs for promotion of a railway official.
Bansal’s nephew Vijay Singla was arrested from his residence in Chandigarh in the evening today by India’s premier investigating agency CBI today after the arrest of Railway Board member Mahesh Kumar in Mumbai.
Vijay Singla has allegedly accepted a bribe Rs 90 lakhs by Mahesh Kumar, reportedly, for his promotion as Railway Board member. Kumar was appointed as Railway Board member only yesterday and earlier, he was working as Western Railways as General Manager.
Former GM of Westen Railways Mahesh Kumar has Guinness World Record registered in his name for commissioning the world’s ‘Largest Route Relay Interlocking’ at Old Delhi Railway Station 36 hours which is shortest possible time for doing the interlocking.
CBI has registered a case under sections of Prevention of Corruption Act and has arrested two more persons along with Sinha and Kumar.
These arrests came at a time when Congress Party is already under heavy attacks from opposition parties on Coal scam fiasco in Supreme Court of India, JPC report on Coal scam and Sarabjeet Singh issue.
