Himachal HC directs state government to remove illegal eateries alongside Rohtang Pass

Himachal Pradesh High Court on Friday directed Forest department and Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation to remove all illegal eateries between the Kothi and Rohtang Pass and report compliance report by June 10.
A High Court Bench comprising Chief Justice AM Khanwillkar and Justice RB Misra observed that zero-tolerance level approach should be followed to curb such illegal activities in forest area. The High Court bench also cautioned the officers that if they fail to take prompt action as per the court orders, appropriate proceeding will be initiated against the secretary of the Forest Department and Managing Director of the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation.
The High Court also directed the police authorities to provide all logistical support to the officials concerned when-ever required.
