France legalises gay marriages

France has legalised gay marriages in the country with the French president Francois Hollande signing the bill into a law.
As per reports, French President signed the bill legalising gay marriages in the country after which it became 14th country in the world to do the same.
Last month, French Parliament had passed the gay marriage bill that was being opposed by conservative lawmakers but their challenge motion was rejected by the Constitutional Council.
France is now expected to witness first gay marriages in coming weeks and the gay marriage law will now be published in the official journal.
Last year, French President Francois Hollande has included the issue of legalizing gay marriage in the country as one of his campaign pledges and has now promised to published the law in the official journal as soon as possible.
