Congress to standby Bansal, Ashwini Kumar, rules out their resignations

With opposition parties baying for the blood of Union Railways and Law minister, Congress Party today decided to standby Pawan Kumar Bansal and Ashwini Kumar and ruled their resignations.
The opposition parties are demanding Pawan Kumar Bansal’s resignation after his nephew Ajay Singla was arrested by CBI for taking bribe for senior railway officer’s promotion to the post Railway Board member. While Union Law minister is in dock for allegedly making changes in CBI’s status report on Coal scam which was to be submitted in the Supreme Court of India by the India’s premier investigating agency.
After a meeting of Congress Core Group, Indian Information and Broadcasting minister Manish Tiwary told media persons that the opposition parties demand doesn’t augur well for democracy and ruled the possibility of resignation by Indian Railways minister PK Bansal or Indian Law minister, Ashwini Kumar.
Tewari ruled out the resignation of Railway Minister by saying that investigations in the matter are on and Bansal himself had welcomed the probe in bribery case that was reportedly fixed around Rs 10-12 crores.
Meanwhile, the matter concerning Ashwani Kumar is sub-judice and is scheduled to come up in Court on May 8.
Tiwary even advised main opposition party BJP to first look within before demanding resignations and criticized the party for playing the politics of disruption and obstruction in Parliament.
BJP’s General Secretary Rajiv Pratap Rudy attacked Congress led UPA government for defending corruption and said that it is shocking to see that Indian government is shielding its corrupt ministers instead of taking against them.
