CBSE affiliated govt schools’ students to be given Rs 1 lakh cash prize

Indian government’s Human Resource Development ministry will give a cash award of Rs 1 lakh each to 200 meritorious students of CBSE affiliated government schools who have passed class 12th class exams this year.
HRD Minister M.M. Pallam Raju decided to give cash prize of Rs 1 lakh to students who have studied from classes 9th to 12th in government schools and have passed the class 12th exam this year in CBSE affiliated government schools affiliated to CBSE and that are run by the state governments, said a spokesperson of HRD ministry.
”Out of 200 rewards, 50 each will be for the students from Science, Commerce, Humanity and Vocational streams,” said the spokesperson, adding that Raju expressed satisfaction over the CBSE class 12th result that was announced yesterday.
Raju said that the pass percentage this year is 82.10 percent which is highest in the last five years and the names of awardees will be announced in one month’s time.
