New Delhi/May 23
Unidentified gunmen on Tuesday abducted the father of Afghanistan cricket team captain Mohammad Nabi from near his residence in Jalalabad.
Khobi Khan was abducted from near his Jalalabad residence when he was going out in his car and still there are no reports about his well-being or any ransom demand being made.
As per reports, Afghanistan Cricket board president Shazada Masoud confirmed the reports that Khan has been kidnapped and police officials are still trying to locate him.
The national cricket team captain Nabi reportedly told the police that he or his family has no personal enmity with anyone and family is in shock after abduction.
Nabi, who was named captain of national team in March, had played prominent role in promoting cricket in the country and he had learned to play cricket while he was living as a refugee in Pakistan.
It is worth mentioning here that abductions are quite common in violence ridden country that is continuously fighting the violence unleashed by Taliban terrorists and many high ranking officials of Afghanistan government have fallen prey to ongoing violence in the country.
