Vijender took drugs with me, claims Olympian’s friend, Ram Singh

Olympic Medal winner, Vijender Singh further got into trouble after his friend Ram Singh today claimed that he and Vijender had used drugs in February this year after procuring it from Kahlon.
In an interview to a private news channel, Ram Singh, a Punjab police cop and national level boxer, said, “I knew Anup Singh Kahlon but I don’t know where I met him. I and Vijender had procured drugs from Anoop Singh Kahlon and has used drugs in February. Last time, we took drugs around 26 or 27 February.”
Ram Singh, Vijender’s roommate at the National Institute of Sports, Patiala claimed that he and Vijender had been using heroin. Singh further claimed that he and Vijender had met Kahlon atleast five times in Chandigarh and Vijender had asked him to procure drugs after he told him that he had used drugs. Meanwhile, police officials said that as of now, no decision had been taken to summon Vijender for questioning.
Meanwhile, the accused, Anup Singh Kahlon, who was arrested by police with 26 kg heroin, tried to commit suicide in jail by slashing his wrists. “Kahlon took out a wire from the bucket used for bathing and tried to slit his wrist with it. He was taken to a nearby hospital and his condition is stable now,” said a senior police official.
Three other persons have also been arrested in the case and police had recovered the car of Vijender’s wife from near the house of accused. Vijender Singh had denied any links with the drug peddler and said that he is in Mumbai and his friend, Ram Singh might have taken his car to Zirakpur.
