Two suspected terrorists arrested in Delhi

Police say possible terror strike averted with seizure or arms and ammunition

Delhi Police’s Special cell has arrested two suspected terrorists from Jama Masjid area here last night and claimed to have averted a possible terror strike in the capital.
Police sources said that on the basis of intelligence input, the Special Cell conducted a raid in a guest house in Jama Masjid area of Central Delhi last night and arrested two suspected terrorists. “We have recovered arms and ammunition including AK-47 rifle and explosives from the room no. 305 of the guest house where the suspected terrorists were staying in,” said a police officer on the condition of anonymity.
Sources further stated that they have received information regarding the two alleged terrorists, suspected to be from Kashmir, from a Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist, Liyakat Shah who was arrested by a team of Delhi police officials from Gorakhpur two days ago. “On interrogations, Liyakat had revealed about the plan of terrorists who allegedly had conducted recce some important locations of Delhi to carry out terror strikes on Holi on March 27,” added the sources.
Liyakat is presently in Delhi police custody as he was remanded into police custody for 15 days by a local court.
