Punjab to remove encroachment from WAQF land

Punjab government has decided to remove unauthorized encroachments from the properties of the Punjab Waqf Board to ensure overall development and welfare of the Muslim community in the state.
Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal while addressing a gathering to mark the constitution of ‘Amarat-e-Sharia’(Muslim Welfare and Shariat Society) said that the government has decided to ensure proper maintenance of the properties of Punjab Waqf Board across the state and if any matter pertaining to the unauthorized encroachments on property of the Board was pending than the state government would promptly take the necessary action for getting it evicted.
Badal further stated that the state government is committed towards promoting brotherhood and amity in the state and safeguard the interests of the minorities in the state.
