The decomposed body of NDTV producer Ravi Nibhanpudi, who went missing in November last year while trekking here, was found dead in a gorge on famous Triund trekking route.
Police officials said that the decomposed body was spotted by a trekker who informed them. “Ravi was identified on the basis of an I-card recovered from his possession. From initial investigations, it seems that Ravi might have fell into the gorge accidentally and died as we have recovered his camera and other belonging from him. Meanwhile, further investigations in the matter are on,” said a police official.
The official further stated that the exact cause of his death could be ascertained after his autopsy and they will retrieve the his body tomorrow.
Ravi Nibhanapudi, a producer with NDTV, had come on a holiday to Dharamshala after which he went to Mcleodganj on November 24 last year and had went missing after that. In his last conversation, Ravi had told one of his friends that he is going on trekking to Triund. Police had launched several operations to locate him but they couldn’t find him.
