Minor girl allegedly raped by ITBP Constable in Dharamshala

A minor girl was allegedly raped by Indo- Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) constable while she was returning home after watching closing ceremony of 61st All India Police Games in Dharamshala last evening.
Police officials said that ITBP constable, whose identity was not revealed by police as they are still waiting for the medical report of the victim, allegedly raped the girl at a secluded place in Dharamshala. “The 17-year-old girl, in her complaint, alleged that while she was returning home after watching closing ceremony, the constable tried to talk to her to which she refused. The accused then allegedly forcibly took her to a secluded place and raped her,” said the police official.
The police official further stated that the minor girl reported the incident to parents who filed a complaint in this regard with police. “We have arrested the accused and he has been sent for three days remand by the local court. We have sent the girl for medical examination and are awaiting her medical report,” stated the police.
Sources said that the constable, posted in Jalandhar, was the member of ITBP contingent for 61st All India Police Games that concluded here on Friday and was deployed as helper in the bus.
