BJP announces team for 2014; Modi inducted into Parliamentary Board

Clearing the road for Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi for playing a major role in 2014 Loksabha elections, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today re-inducted Modi in the party’s Parliamentary Board after six years.
Political experts are viewing Modi’s selection as a major boost to his prime ministerial ambitions as BJP’s central parliamentary board is highest decision making body.
The new members of BJP’s central parliamentary board includes Rajnath Singh (president), Atal Bihari Vajpayee, LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, M Venkaiah Naidu, Nitin Gadkari, Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitely, Narendra Modi, Ananth Kumar, Thawar Chand Gehlot, Ram Lal.
BJP president, Rajnath Singh today announced new core team after meeting senior BJP leader, LK Advani in the morning here today. The Party’s new general secretary include Former Gujarat home minister Amit Shah, Varun Gandhi, Ram Lal, JP Nadda, Ananth Kumar, Dharmendra Pradhan, Muralidhar Rao, Rajiv Rudy, Thawarchand Gehlot, Tapir Gao.
Meanwhile, the list of new BJP vice presidents include Smriti Irani, ex-Karnataka CM Sadananda Gowda, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Prabhat Jha, Balbir Punj, Uma Bharti, Kiran Maheshwari, Dr CP Thakur, Jual Urao, SS Ahluwalia, Satpal Malik, Bijyo Chakravarti and Lakxmikanta Chawla. Irani has been replaced by Saroj Pandey as the head of the BJP women’s wing.
Prakash Javadekar, Shahnawaz Hussain, Nirmala Sitaraman, Vijay Sonkar Shashtri, Dr Sudhanshu Trivedi, Meenakshi Lekhi and Captain Abhimanyu have been made the party’s spokespersons.
