HP government decides to keep Annandale Ground with Indian Army: Virbhadra Singh

Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said that security of the nation was most important and development and progress of nation and States was possible only if country was safe. He was talking to media persons here on Tuesday. He said that Annandale ground of Shimla was not only important from defence point of view but also for immediate relief measures in case of any natural disaster. He said that State Government had decided to keep the Annadale ground with Indian Army in the national interest.
Replying to a question, Chief Minister said that this year heavy snowfall had witnessed after two decades which had disrupted the normal life. He said that all blocked main roads had been restored in the State and directions had been given to expedite the work of clearing other blocked roads. He said that new poles were being installed to replace damaged poles besides laying new cables.
Singh said that draft for starting mono rail facility in Shimla had been formulated which would help in regulating the traffic in the State capital. State Government had taken up the matter of restoring industrial package with Central Government so that new industries could be set up in the State thereby providing employment opportunities to the youth.
Answering to another question Singh said that he had taken up the matter of railway line network expansion in the State with Union Minister for Railways.
