Shimla Nagrik Sabha holds protest demonstration

Shimla/ July 2

Shimla Nagrik Sabha (SNS)  held protest demonstration against the mismanagement in the Deen Dayal Uppadhaya Hospital here on Monday.  SNS spokesperson Vijender Mehra alleged that the facility of various tests was stopped due to mismanagement of hospital authority for last many months. Due to this the patients were being forced to visit private labs for the tests. “This was harassing the patients as they were forced to pay five to ten times more money even for simple tests,” Mehra alleged. He said that the nexus between the hospital authority and private laboratories was the main reason behind this. SNS asked the hospital authority to start these test soon, otherwise threaten to launch mass agitation. SNS said that the various post of ministerial staff was lying vacant in this hospital and many of facilities in the Emergency were not available to patients. This was adding to the problems of the patients. SNS requested to fill these posts as soon as possible. It also demanded to fill the four vacant posts of radiographers and start the CT scan facility in the hospital. SNS also criticised the BJP government for privatisation of health services in the state which was badly affecting the patients.
