Around 10000 HRTC employees ultimately have decided to go on 24 hours Chakka Jam on June 24 and to work on rules from June 20. A meeting of Joint Action Committee of HRTC employees was held here on Tuesday after the protest demonstration.

The HRTC employees from all districts of state participated in large numbers. The various speakers including president of Joint Action Committee (JAC) of various categories of HRTC employees, Shankar Singh Thakur addressed the gathering.

Thakur alleged that the HRTC management in the meeting held on June 18 had agreed to their demands. The management after a period of one month have rejected all their demands, he alleged.

JAC is demanding early regularisation of contract employees, converting of HRTC into roadways on the pattern of Punjab and Dearness allowance of contract employees.

President, JAC, Shankar Singh Thakur said that if their demands were not accepted in totto by the HRTC management, they would go on strike.

He alleged that the government in its corrigendum letter circulated on July 3 has refused to accept the demand of providing DA to contract employees in HRTC. Even the HRTC management has formed no committee for looking into possibilities of converting HRTC into Roadway like Punjab even after 26 days, he added. It is the inaction of HRTC management which has forced to go on strike, he added.

Sources said that HRTC management this time has decided to take disciplinary action against those employees who would participate in the strike.

Managing director HRTC, Dhruv Vasisth said that stern action would be taken against the erring employees. We have already issued directions to the Divisional Managers and Regional Managers to take necessary action, he added.
