BJP may use Virbhadra’s CD in election campaign

Shimla/ July 2
The state BJP may use the ‘controversial’ CD to apprise the public about the misdeeds of Congress leader and former union minister Virbhadra Singh in the ensuing Vidhan Sabha poll campaign.
This was disclosed by BJP spokesman and sitting MLA Randhir Sharma here on Monday while addressing media. “But before taking this step the BJP will take legal opinion. The Himachal Pradesh High Court had only put ban on circulation of CD in the last elections but not for future elections,” he added.
Sharma said the Congress high command was in the habit of promoting corrupt ministers and similar was the case with Virbhadra Singh.

“Now the Congress has given Virbhadra Singh the responsibility to head the election campaign, but it will not do any harm to the BJP. Instead we will gain from this move,” he added.
He alleged that Virbhadra Singh was trying to cover up his misdeeds by terming the CD a mere conspiracy against him by the state BJP government.
“The court has framed charges against him, so how he can put the blame on us,” he asked.
“The vigilance has initiated inquiry in this case when Virbhadra Singh himself was the chief minister and the inquiry report was also submitted during his tenure” the BJP leader claimed.
He said the UPA government has always ignored the interests of state whether it was an issue of extension of industrial package, expansion of rail network, quota of kerosene or any other issue. “The BJP will also take up these issues in its campaign,”he added. He said that many of the ministers of UPA were already behind the bars and corruption of its leaders would also be a issue in the campaign of BJP.
Praising former union minister Shanta Kumar and Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, he said they were the tallest leaders in the state and with their help and joint campaign the party will succeed in its “Mission Repeat”.
