Three ‘fake teachers’ held

The state vigilance department has arrested three teachers who were posted in different government schools of Himachal on the basis of fake transfer orders and fake identities. The accused have been identified as Jaswant Singh( Ambala), Devkant ( Rivari) and Kanwar Singh( Rivari). These teachers were posted as lectures in government schools of Kangra district and Sirmour district. On the complaint of director education a case against these three teachers was registered in 2009 at vigilance police station, Shimla.

But these teachers could not be arrested all these years because they have given fake names and addresses. On the secret information, a special team of state vigilance arrested all these accused. Additional Superintendent of Police, Satish Kumar said that the accused were produced in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate on Wednesday in Shimla. All of them have been sent to the judicial custody for 14 days, he added.

Sources said that vigilance department was also investigating the involvement of officials of education department. All the accused had withdrawn a salary amounting to more than Rs. eight lakh while working as lectures in these schools. One of the teachers had also got a loan of Rs 5.85 lakh from the SBI branch of Siuni in Kangra on the basis of fake identity.
