Under the banner of the Himachal Kisan Sabha, farmers of the Shimla district on Thursday staged a protest outside Vidhansabha. The state president of Himachal Kisan Sabha, Dr. Kuldip Tanwar lambasted the state government for its anti farmer and anti people policies. He criticized the government for the poor condition of the roads in the areas adjoining the state capital Shimla. He alleged that the farmers of these areas were facing many problems due to the bad condition of the roads. He rued that the JICA scheme meant for crop diversification was limited only to the some lower districts of the state and this scheme should be extended to Kinnaur,Shimla and Solan so that the farmers of these districts could be benefited. The various leaders of Himachal Kisan Sabha alleged that the state government had totally failed in fulfilling their genuine demands of the farmers. They alleged that state government had failed to provide sustainable markets to vegetable growers and its failure to curb the monkey menace in the state. They charged that the state government was sitting as a silent spectator to the issues being faced by farmers. Kisan Sabha demanded to provide various facilities at Dhali market so that the farmers who are coming from various stations of district can be benefited. Himachal Kisan Sabha member also submitted its demand charter to the Chief Minister, Prem Kumar Dhumal.
