Two Punjab police personnel assigned to Punjab’s Education minister Sikandar Singh Maluka were killed on Thursday after the driver of pilot car suddenly applied breaks near Kundli area in Haryana’s Sonipat district.
“Harbans Singh and Gurmit Singh were traveling in the pilot car ahead of Maluka’s car when the driver suddenly applied breaks after seeing power cables lying on the road in the morning today. The constables fell out of the car and they came under the tyres of another car,” said the police, adding that the constables were rushed to a nearby hospital where they were declared brought dead.
Police officials said the due to the heavy rain, the visibility was very poor and the driver couldn’t see the power cables on time and had to apply immediate breaks.
As per reports, Maluka was on his way to New Delhi to attend a meeting at the time of incident.
