13-year-old boy from Bihar cracks IIT-JEE entrance exam

A 13-year-old from Bihar Bhojpur district has created new record by becoming the youngest person to crack the Indian Institute of Technology-Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE) in which around 1.50 lakh students has appeared.
A resident of Bakhorapur village in Bihar’s Bhojpur district, Satyam Kumar has secured All India rank of 679 and he had passed 12 class exams last year.
A farmer’s son, Satyam had also qualified for admission into IIT last year at the age of 12-and-a-half years after he got a special permission from the Central Board of Secondary Education to appear in the entrance exam. But he wasn’t satisfied with his ranking (8,137) and he appeared in the entrance this year.
Earlier, Sahal Kaushik from Delhi was the youngest person to have cracked IIT exam in 2010 at the age of 14.
Satyam appeared for the entrance examination in Kota, Rajasthan where he had been studying.
